Joining a trend I saw on TikTok, I decided to use some footage I took while I was on holiday to practice my colour-grading skills.
The first video is the main part of the trend, however, I also wanted to show the comparison between the raw footage and the edited footage, therefore creating the second video. This second video also adheres to another trend on TikTok, however, it ultimately comes under the same concept of colour grading and cinematography.
The trend itself is meant to highlight the flexibility and accessibility of being able to create cinematographic content such as this. The “I only have an iPhone” text is meant to show that you don’t necessarily need a big fancy camera (although I’d argue that an iPhone is already a big fancy camera lol) to be able to create stuff. The Apple logo is just there because people in the trend are showing if they’re using an iPhone... and I used an iPhone so I put it there too. free marketing I guess?
I personally wouldn’t consider myself a videographer, a cinematographer, or a good colour grader considering I generally prefer to do motion graphics and VFX, but this was fun and cool opportunity to practice stuff I’m not the strongest in :)
